Basic Thai Massage with Krishnataki in SINTRA, PORTUGAL

In this course for beginners, we learn sequences and techniques for a 2-hour treatment of Thai massage. The course travels day by day from the feet to the head, gradually forming a complete Thai Massage based on the stretches and acupressure as taught by Thai Massage master Asokananda. A large part of the course, supported by sessions of Meditation, Yoga and Tai Chi, emphasizes on the importance of the spiritual connection and intuition we develop through massage.
The course is held in English and is for both beginners and practitioners of other kinds of bodywork. There are no prerequisites for the course – everybody can do it and everybody is welcome.
Thai Massage techniques can be effectively integrated into other therapy disciplines such as Shiatsu, Remedial Massage or Physiotherapy, meaning the course offers the opportunity for therapists of other massage styles to improve and broaden their skills.

Day 1: Introduction to Thai massage (history & philosophy), feet, and line-work legs
Day 2: Single-leg stretches
Day 3: Double leg stretches
Day 4: Stomach, chest, arms and hands
Day 5: Side position
Day 6: Half day free & practice day
Day 7: Prone position – legs and back
Day 8: Sitting position
Day 9: Shoulders, neck, and headlines and stretches
Day 10: Therapeutic Integration

08.30 – 10.00: Hearty Breakfast
10.00 – 13.00: Thai Massage session 1
13.00 – 15.30: Lunch & Siesta
15.30 – 18.30: Thai Massage session 2
18.30 – 20.00: Acroyoga / Qi Gong / Steam Bath
20.00 – 21.00: Dinner
21.00 – 22.00: Metta Meditation & Bhajans
The course is held at the Awaken Heart Yoga Center, which is located in Sintra, Lisbon.
The place is within walking distance from Praia Grande Beach.
