A Conscious Transition into the New Year

The turn of the year is a special time—an invitation to pause, reflect, and consciously look ahead. In this 8-day New Year’s Retreat, we combine learning traditional Thai yoga massage with space for reflection, regeneration, and a powerful start into the new year.

In the quiet days between the years, we allow the old to settle, gather new energy, and realign ourselves from within. The mindful practice of Thai massage supports the harmonization of body, mind, and energy flow, providing a valuable foundation for the year ahead.

In this course, you will learn the structure and fundamental techniques of a complete two-hour traditional Thai massage treatment. Step by step, we build a coherent treatment sequence that is safe, mindful, and effective.

The treatment includes meridian work, compressions, muscle stretches, and gentle joint mobilizations. The body is treated holistically from feet to head, working in supine, prone, side-lying, and seated positions. In addition, we explore the history and philosophy of Thai massage as well as its application for various conditions.

Yoga and meditation are closely connected to Thai massage and are therefore an integral part of the course. The practice of meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, and chanting supports presence, body awareness, and inner alignment.

Throughout the week, Krishnataki, Till Heeg, Zoltan Gyorgyovics, Jinjur van Vogelpoel, Kerys Williams and Johannes Vogt will teach together. Each instructor brings many years of experience, their own unique style, and specialised areas of expertise. Through a variety of inspiring sessions, participants will explore advanced techniques, therapeutic sequences, and different approaches to treatment.

The focus is on refining the quality of touch, palpation, body mechanics, clinical reasoning, and the ability to create individualised treatments. Questions arising from clinical practice will be addressed, existing techniques refined, and new methods introduced that can be directly integrated into your daily therapeutic work.

Hands-on practice, professional exchange, and individual feedback create an inspiring learning environment where every participant can continue to grow according to their own level of experience.

Alongside the intensive training, there is ample free time for rest, personal activities, social exchange, and relaxed time together. We will experience the unique atmosphere of the Rauhnächte (the Twelve Sacred Nights), celebrate New Year’s Eve together in mindful community, and use this powerful time for reflection, inspiration, and setting clear intentions for the year ahead.

The secluded Seminarhaus Kilchzimmer, nestled in the tranquil rolling hills of the Baselbieter Jura, offers the ideal setting for this New Year’s course. In the silence of the mountains, far from the pace of everyday life, we reconnect with the original spirit of Thai massage. The accommodation is simple and cozy, intentionally free of luxury, allowing us to immerse ourselves fully in the traditional world of Thai massage without distraction.
