Thai Massage and the 5 Elements with Krishnataki
6h – 11th November 2020
A Journey into Thai Massage & the 5 Elements
During this 5-day course, we will learn about the therapeutic application of Thai Massage, in accordance with the five elements of Chinese Medicine. Each day we will focus on a different element and understand the internal organs, meridians, acupoints and practices associated with it and use Thai massage sequences to address imbalances there. Water, Earth, Metal, Fire, and Wood make up the elemental system according to Chinese Medicine. We will explore the emotional body, pathological conditions, dietary nutrition & herbs, as well as go deep into elemental awareness with ceremony, meditation, movement, touch, qi gong and breathwork. In using the wisdom of the Tao with static and Dynamic Thai massage, we can tonify and disperse energy, address deficiency and excess and harmonize the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies.
Day 1: Introduction of the Water element
Looking deeper at the spine, bones & kidneys and focusing on acupressure points to energize and tonify the water element and address the emotions of fear and insecurity. Dealing with ailments of lower back pain, chronic fatigue, coldness, fertility, sexual abuse, low libido & kidney issues.
Day 2: Embracing the Wood element
Addressing the liver & gall bladder and liver-related issues. Learning how to disperse and move anger and aggression in order to harmonize and work positively with the central nervous system and psychosomatic issues, such as paranoia, moodiness, fickle behaviour, qi stagnation and addictions.
Day 3: Looking into the Fire element
This is related with the heart and small intestines, With the application of Thai massage and work on the meridians, we work on people with severe ups and downs, emotional disturbances, and traumas – basically calming the internal fire.
Day 4: Touching the Earth element
Exploring the spleen and stomach by confronting worry and anxiety, lack of direction and purpose in life. Also deficiency in the digestive system can benefit from boosting and tonification of certain points and by empowering the core. Our strength lies in our core.
Day 5: Opening up the Metal element
The lungs and large intestines and addressing all kinds of respiratory problems, such as asthma and chronic lung disorders. When we deal with grief, mourning and excessive sadness we are also able to balance and harmonize the metal element.
