OsteoThai Course for the Main Joints with David Lutt
20th – 25th June 2023

The joint system is often forgotten in Thai massage. We work around the joint, mainly its tendinous system, but unfortunately, we don’t treat the joint itself. Osteopathy is then very helpful to release the energy blocked in the joints. Thus the energy released will help the patient’s body to gain vitality and to use it for a faster recovery. Asking for a more precise touch and a better understanding of joint biomechanics we will explore each joint of the lower and upper limbs.
Movement and mobility, the real obsession of osteopaths, will be back, together with rhythm, coordination and joint integrity. This class will give you precise techniques and useful tools to treat and free joints such as ankle, knee, hip, shoulder, wrist or elbow.
During this 5-day course, we will focus on:
– JOINT MOBILITY
How to restore joint mobility and release energy blocks in the main joints: foot, ankle, knee, hip joint, shoulder, elbow, wrist) with techniques coming from osteopathy and advanced Thai massage.
– THE PRINCIPLES OF ARTICULAR GENERAL TREATMENT
Very traditional in osteopathy is the General Treatment focusing on the joints. The aim is to harmonize and stabilize the body by mobilizing each and every joint.
The 3 “R” law: Rhythm, Rotation and Routine.
– ACTIVE VS PASSIVE APPROACHES
How to approach a joint with active (pumping, recoil, impulse, rocking) and passive (fascia and connective tissues work) techniques.
– INTEGRATION
Let’s discover how it is possible to integrate a joint workout into our Thai massage routine to get a fluid treatment mixing continuity and change of rhythms. The concept of Periphery-Central axis integration.
