Autumn Basic Thai Massage with Kristina and Federico

31st October – 10th November 2024

Move Through Touch

The contemplative autumn is the time of harvesting. A time of trespassing from the excitement of the summer to the qualities of the upcoming winter. In a time when nature goes inwards, quiets down and retreats, we have the capacity to follow this process for our body and our inner self. Through learning the therapeutic art of Thai Massage, the practice of compassion and a variety of applied bodywork techniques we nourish, feed and touch our body and mind.

Transition time is Dancing time.

In a time of transitioning from one place to another, we are gone but have not yet arrived. This can cause discomfort, worries, and insecurities. While learning how to be, how to dance through these phases of our life, of our practice, of our treatment and be present, we start to find comfort in this process and access the joy of life.

With a combination of traditional practices and somatic approaches, we create a flow that inspires and welcomes everyone into a space of learning, experience and vitality.

The course provides a safe environment where we can cultivate acceptance, observation and compassion. Gaining knowledge, developing intuition and opening to playfulness! It’s all about activating hands and heart and learning about the body.

Connect, Open your hearts, Breathe, Receive, Be

In this Thai massage course, we will learn a full body massage based on traditional and modern therapeutic arts, through a generous number of ways and techniques, to safely unlock all common blockages that we meet in us and others.

We are using a versatile background connecting oriental and western knowledge based on the rich heritage of Thai yoga massage and Osteothai principles, Physiotherapeutic and cranio-sacral approaches.

We will introduce ways to:
  • Learn a full body massage
  • Explore the diverse techniques of static and dynamic approaches
  • Be precise and effective on specific areas of the body and how to approach different cases, with a focus on lower and upper back conditions, that are mostly needed in the modern world and a focus on belly and thorax that can mirror our mental and emotional state, beyond their physical function
  • Find how to connect different parts of the body, the center with the limbs
  • Learn to be in flow and make safe use of your body while working

There will be demonstration of exercises, theory and anatomy references, with the main focus on hands-on practice with parallel support from the teaching team.

We will learn how to listen and tailor our practice for our receiver’s needs, as well as following our potential.

We are going to use moving arts, elements from creative movement and dance therapy, as well yoga, Tai Chi, voice and chantings and of course community-building, as an additional aid to awake and explore therapeutic aspects that lie within us and to add a sense of easiness and freedom to our practice.

There will be time for a lot of massage practice and time for exploration of our inner state, mindful discussions and sharing. Moments of silence and deep listening.

The course is open for complete beginners, repeaters and advanced students, as well as bodyworkers of other therapies.

Following the deeply respected and appreciated tradition of the Sunshine House, through the compassionate and playful guidance of Kristina, Panagiotis and experienced bodyworkers who will complete the teaching team.

Federico

Federico was born in Argentina where from an early age on he had contact with different practices such as martial arts and massage. Since 2009 he lives in Germany where he continues his studies, focusing on the development of Thai massage and Taijiquan. Within the martial arts he focuses on the development of internal aspects that are principles compatible with the practice of Thai massage. For example: perception, regeneration, intuition, internal strength, etc. For some years he has been teaching these disciplines and combining the development of Qigong and Neigong (exercises that give shape to Taijiquan) with the development of Thai massage. Since 2013 he practices and learns massage at the sunshinehouse with Krishna Takis, and attends training courses on craniosacral therapy, abdominal massage, internal organs and others from different teachers.

The fascination for the multiple ways of expressing, communicating and learning through the body has ruled Kristina`s path of development. Starting with a formation in classical and contemporary dance she worked with theatres and companies through Europe and South America. While practicing Yoga to maintain a healthy body-mind state for herself in 2003/04 she completed her first Teacher Training in order to deepen and share this knowledge with others. Five Years of studying a form of body-oriented psychotherapy followed.

Getting in contact with the loving touch of Thai Massage and Tao touch Chin Nei Tsang fascinated her deeply. She is inspired by diverse teacher and approaches. Observing the richness that submerges out of a state of presence and compassion. As a Practice that is never completed, never finished but always evolving and changing like life itself. It is a present and great joy for her to share this and research with others and walk parts of this path together.
