Basic Thai Massage Course with Bojan
“The Art of Touch”
20th – 30th May 2021
“No other form of communication is as universally understood as touch..”
– Randi G.Fine
To be in communication…
To be in contact…
To be in touch…
In this 10-day Basic Thai Massage course, we will explore The Art of Touch through the path and basic principles of Thai Massage.
The way we approach communication through touch is of great significance to the connection we have to ourselves and the world around us. Through touch, we perceive the body not only through the physical but also through emotional and energetic aspects. Through touch, we offer compassion, support, healing…
Gentleness and solidity of touch, combined with a meditative and emphatic intention create a heart-opening environment for clear, unobstructed communication. Listening with our hands, hearing with our heart, we will get introduced to the philosophy of the energy lines and working with acupressure and stretches. Giving a great deal of attention to the principles of Thai massage such as using gravity, perfect fit, good body posture, effortless movement, etc. Finally learning a sequence that will cover a variety of four positions of practicing Thai massage (supine, side, sitting, and prone).
A generous part of the program will focus on common therapeutic applications for symptoms such as lower back pain, fatigue, neck and shoulder tensions, headache, etc.
This seminar is suitable for beginners and more advanced practitioners who would like to dive deeper into their practice.
After the course, students will receive a certificate of attendance from the International Society of Thai Yoga Massage (Sunshine Network).
The main focus of this course will be on developing a keen sense of touch. Without touch, there is a feeling of separation and estrangement. Connecting to each other through touch gives us the opportunity to communicate love, compassion, and support healing to take place. Using tools such as meditation, self-inquiry, Chi Gong, Yoga, dance, journaling, we will get in touch with ourselves. Anchored deeply in our core we will (re-)connect to the potential of our true nature. From within we will embark on a path of Thai massage with awareness and compassion.
As this is a residential course, we will dive deeper into the communal living cultivating METTA (loving-kindness), compassion, and understanding.
