Silent Retreat with the aid of María Deza

Vipassana Meditation

6th – 13th April 2019

For an ordinary life… this practice.
For an impermanent visitor… this journey.

A retreat can inspire us to unfold the inherent capacities of Energy, Mindfulness, Concentration and Wisdom, to tap into the dimension of truth and love that lies within every being.

This retreat is based on Mahasi Sayadaw´s style of Vipassana meditation training (sitting and walking meditation) and an integrated yoga program. Noble Silence and Slow Motion are important aspects of this practice as both can help us to enhance our concentration. Individual guidance and assistance will be available. The retreat is open to experienced meditators and beginners alike, but a firm commitment to go through the full retreat is expected. Part-time participation is not possible.

María Deza

María started practicing meditation more than 20 years ago with different teachers until she met Asokananda in 1997. He became her teacher and since then she has made a strong commitment to the practice of a Vipassana inspired way of life until now.

One of the teachings she inherited from Asokananda is the practice of Vipassana in the Wild and in Nature, as he regularly taught in the middle of the jungle in Northern Thailand. When possible she organizes retreats in very rustic places in the countryside of Mexico.

She studied Dance and is a Yoga teacher in Mexico, having created a Yoga and Meditation Center in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz. She lives with her husband and daughter and the challenges and inspiration of daily life form the basis of her practice.
