Courses

NEW @ Sunshine House
NEW Overseas

Our Philosophy
All of our courses (unless otherwise stated) are in the form of a retreat, in order to live something other than we do in our daily lives. It is a chance to find and explore our spirituality and a time to come together with other like-minded spirits to learn and practice a new skill. We often see people slowly relaxing into their time here; unfolding like lotus flowers.

Daily Schedules
The day starts with optional meditation practice and yoga or Qi Gong, classes for which no previous experience is needed, usually followed by a swim in Summer and a hearty breakfast. The course takes up the bulk of the day with a lunch break and time for a siesta (a favourite Greek tradition), a relax in the hammock or a walk. After the evening meal there is sometimes impromptu music, dancing or chanting but we ask for silence to be respected after 10.30pm. A typical daily schedule is as follows:

06:00 – 06:45 Morning Meditation
07:00 – 09:00 Sunrise Yoga
09:00 – 11:00 Breakfast and Shower time
11:00 – 14:00 Massage demonstration and practice
14:00 – 16:00 Lunch and siesta
16:00 – 19:00 Massage practice
19:00 – 19:30 Qi Gong
20:00 – 21:00 Dinner

Overall Programme
Our courses can be anything from 7-12 days and mostly include a day off when we are able to take you to either one of the beautiful, unspoiled, secluded beaches on the north of the island or to the hot springs resort. Both options give us the chance to enjoy a typical Greek lunch or dinner in one of the infamous traditional tavernas.

Community Spirit
During your stay with us, we want you to feel at home. We encourage Sunshine House to be a place which thrives on community. Karma yoga is the act of selfless service and so we encourage everyone to help with small tasks like washing up, chopping vegetables, serving the meals etc…nothing too strenuous!
